Referendum on Increasing the Student Activities Fee and WSA Elections

During the next week, voting will be open to all undergraduate students for a referendum on increasing the Student Activities Fee (SAF) and the Winter At-Large Elections (the resolution is hyperlinked). The Student Activities Fee dictates how much money goes towards our 300+ student groups. This resolution affects every single student, so we need as much student participation in this vote as possible. This result will be seen by the Board of Trustees in February. If the Wesleyan community votes to increase the SAF, then the Board of Trustees will authorize our decision.

As for the elections, The details are included below:

There are seventeen (17) spots for At-Large Representatives open to all classes. All vote-getters will receive semester-long terms as long as they garner a minimum of twenty-five (25) votes.

Write-in candidates must obtain sufficient votes to rank in the top seventeen (17) spots for At-Large candidates. They also must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) votes.

The WSA strives to make sure that every student can participate in the Assembly. We offer a stipend program that covers 25% of work-study requirements for Senators. Please email wsa@wesleyan.edu if you have any questions about the stipend program, or the WSA in general.

Voting in the referendum and election is now open at wesleyanstudentassembly.org/voting. Voting closes December 11th at 11:59pm.

Thank you,

The WSA Elections Committee
