The Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) is charged with representing the student body on all academic issues, including reviews of programs and departments, proposals for changes to majors, minors, and certificates, academic regulations, library policy, student-faculty relations, varsity athletics, and academic procedures. The AAC is also responsible for matters related to admissions, varsity athletics, and the Gordon Career Center.

The Chair and Vice Chair vote alongside 6 faculty members and a representative of the Graduate Student Assembly on the Wesleyan Educational Policy Committee, the forum through which all changes to academic regulations are discussed and approved. The EPC has both the responsibility and the right to review proposed changes in the curriculum and academic regulations. Students with proposals for changing or adopting new requirements to majors or new academic regulations can contact members of the AAC for support through these endeavors.

The Chair and Vice Chair of the AAC attend the meetings of the Wesleyan faculty and meet monthly with the Provost. Any student-facing matters concerning the full faculty or the provost can be presented to any member of the AAC for support.

The AAC also runs the Textbook Exchange Program at the beginning and end of each semester, aiming to lower textbook costs for the student body by creating a unified location for the sale and purchase of used textbooks.
